1) Free Reminder Services
  • URL Minder - A FREE service to inform you by Email when a site's content changes.

  • Do you occasionally forget to visit your favourite sites that get updated weekly, fortnightly, monthly, etc. Never forget again. Simply register the site with URL Minder and they will check for you every few days and notify you by email if the registered page has had any changes. There is no limit on the number of sites you can register. This is a 100% free service - no strings attached! I use this service in conjunction with WindownLoad.
  • Get Reminded Offers a free service, but for a fee, Webmasters are able to send out a newsletter to subscribers.
  • The Informant: Offers a free service, of monitoring 5 URLs and changes to results of 3 Search submissions. You can set the frequency that the monitoring is performed, with the shortest frequency being 3 days. You are notified by Email if there are any changes, and you visit The Informant to find which sites changed.

  • 2) Free Home Pages
  • SureSite - You Personal Start Page.

  • Sick of loading Netscape's home (or Microsoft, your ISP, etc.) when you first connect to the Internet. Why not have your own HOME page. Suresite provides this FREE, and allows you to add your favourite links, email addresses, etc. Provides a Notepad and quick jumps to the popular search engines and much more. Fast to load and a great place to start your Internet day.

    3) Free Email Services
  • HotMail - Your Free Email address

  • Do you share your Internet connection with others (colleages, children, etc.), then you are probably sharing your Email address. At HotMail you can set up as many addresses as you want: one for work, one for private, one for each of your children, etc. No one will ever have access to your mail again. (I'm unable to use this service as I connect to the Net via a proxy server - so if you have problems - that might be the reason).
  • Geocities - Your free Web site

  • I use the Email forwarding service at this site. You will notice that any Email link to me at this site has my address as brosco@geocities.com . Why not use my email address at my ISP? The answer is simple! If in the future I decide to change my ISP, I would have to: a) Notify all my friends, b) Update all my webpages, c) Change all my entries at the URL-Minder services and d) Probably a few others that I have forgotten! By using Geocities, if I change my ISP, I just register the my new Email address there and I can be confident that I will not miss any of my mail.
  • Free Emails on the WWW A list of sites that provide free Email services.

  • 4) New Site Links
  • New Webaholics

  • Thousands of sites are submitted to search engines every day. When you perform a search, you get presented with thousands, even hundreds of thousands of sites that meet your search criteria. The sites on the top of the list have paid to be there, whereas a humble, unfinancial site like mine may be number 125,231 of 127,267. How do you stumble across the potentially good sites that just cant afford the cost of paying to be in the top 100? Now a unique service is available from Webaholics. Visit this page and you will see the latest sites as they are added to the search engines. Visit one or two sites and when you come back, hit RELOAD, and you will find new sites added to the top of the list, and some dropped from the bottom. This list is realtime - not just a random site lister. I added my site to their search engine and I had 5 minutes of glory of being on top. Over the next hour I saw my site dropping in the list as new ones were added, until I eventually dropped off the bottom. But WOW, for 5 minutes I was on top!!!!! You cant predict what you will find here, it could be bogus sites selling their stupid pyramid and chain letter schemes, or it could be that rare and wonderful find of the type of site that you've been spending months searching for. Go on, take a chance!
